There are many attractions, particularly for children. Here are some of the most popular.
Fly your own plane!
Cadets of 2120 (Witney) Squadron invite you to come and try your hand at flying our flight simulator under the instruction of former RAF pilots.
You'll take off from RAF Brize Norton and fly round Witney before landing back at the airfield (hopefully without crashing!) to claim your
first flight certificate. Recommended for age 11 upwards. This is free, but donations to carnival are welcomed.
Mr. Alexander’s Travelling Show
A unique and captivating blend of magic, unicycling, balance and illusion, which appeals to young and old alike. From the spectacular and gravity defying three-chair balance to his fascinating linking ring routine, the show amuses, entertains and delights all who watch.
Pedro’s Travelling Show
Pedro runs Circus Skills Workshops, demonstrating and teaching hand-held stilts, flower sticks, poi, juggling (balls and clubs), spinning plates, diablos, ball sticks and shaker cups. He also provides hoopla, hopscotch and beanbag games.
Smiley, the happy train, travels round the Leys throughout the afternoon. £1 a ride, all proceeds go to carnival charities.
Grey Gables Garage
New for 2019! At this year’s event, we aim to create a series of painted Cartoon boards of favourite characters for children. Painted by local
creative groups and arranged throughout the Leys for younger visitors and their parents/carers, to track down, the boards, will be placed
to create a walking route through the Leys. The next cartoon should be visible from the last board found, to provide a guiding pathway
through all the carnival events. The boards will be child sized to present the all-important “photo opportunity” for the family. Each board
will give credit to the artist for their efforts, and we give our thanks to all of them for their support.
